Covid Protection

Let's be Practical but not Fearful

With the presence of Covid 19 now active in our community, we have developed a "covid response plan" to protect our clients, ourselves and to reduce community transmission.

Covid 19 Response Plan

At Movement Solutions, we are working off the theory, that  every client that walks through the door is a potential covid risk, even if asymptomatic. Whether you fear contracting the virus or not, is kind of irrelevant, because we also don't wish to become un-intentional carriers for our immune suppressed or elderly clients.

Personally, I feel my body knows how to handle this bug and I have no fear of contracting it. However, I don't want to be responsible for passing it onto one of my clients. I am also mindful that I am the sole breadwinner for my family - school fees to pay, etc and that if I do become ill for any period of time then my income earning potential is affected drastically, and my ultra marathon training schedule will be severely impacted.  So I wish to protect myself, and my staff, as much as I wish to protect all of our clients.

Our main strategies will relate to -

  • Pre-Screening health checks with bookings

  • Staggered appointment times to avoid client's congregating in reception area

  • 5 min sanitisation breaks between clients to disinfect rooms, beds & equipment

  • Client's sanitise hands before entry to building

  • One way entry in and out of bottom two treatment rooms to avoid waiting room congestion or close contact

  • No touch payment processing and appointment re-booking

  • Daily cleaning of bathrooms, door knobs, floors, chairs etc.

  • Personal protection apparel for us as workers - Optional face shield and mask

  • I will be fogging my entire body before re-entering my private home space each day - feel free to "fumigate your entire body" before leaving to travel home.

  • HEPA air filters for the top movement space to be on during classes

Business can carry on as usual as long as precautions are in place. It is my personal opinion, that Covid (or one of it's next 10 variants) will be with us for many years. The quicker we can adapt and follow best practice, the quicker our lives can return to "normal". This will be our new "normal".

HYGIENE

Everyone plays a part in stopping the spread of COVID-19 by having good personal hygiene:

  • Staff will wash their hands often for 20 seconds with soap and water

  • Staff will use alcohol-based hand sanitisers when you can’t use soap and water, and ensure all client's sanitise before entering the building. Let's leave the entry door open to avoid the need to use handles.

  • Staff are to avoid touching their eyes, nose and mouth

  • Staff will clean and disinfect surfaces frequently used,  such as desktops, beds, exercise equipment, doorknobs, etc - Use the FOGGING GUN between each patient

  • Staff will clean and disinfect objects used often such as mobile phones, keys, wallets, eftpos machine, pens, etc -FOGGING GUN between each patient

  • Any staff with a sore throat, cold or flu like symptoms will self RAT test and wait for a negative result before arriving to work.

  • If we are unsure of any clients who appear to have symptoms, we will kindly send you home until you can demonstrate a -ve RAT test

  • Staff are not to come to work if they are in any doubt, and clients are not to turn up to appointments, if they are in any doubt !

The Benefits of FOGGING is that it kills airborne virus as well as surface... and it leaves the surfaces DRY so we don't have to CHANGE BED LINENS between each client. Obviously we will continue to change face protectors after each client. I think the speed of blasting the environment and surfaces before each patient will save time and greatly reduce the risk of transmission.

The Fogging guns contain hospital grade disinfectants and can be FUN.  Do not spray directly at people you don't like ! Do not use as a weapon.

MASKS

Wearing a mask can help protect you and those around you. To use a mask properly you should:

  • wash or sanitise your hands before putting it on or taking it off

  • make sure it covers your nose and mouth and fits snugly under your chin

  • avoid touching the front of your mask while wearing or removing it

  • keep it in place – don't hang it around your neck or under your nose

PHYSICAL DISTANCING

One way to slow the spread of COVID-19 is physical distancing. The more space between you and others, the harder it is for the virus to spread.

Physical distancing means:

  • Keeping 1.5 metres away from others wherever possible

  • Avoiding physical greetings such as handshaking, hugs and kisses - This will hard for us, as we often great our client's with a hug.

  • Practising good hygiene

  • Getting tested and staying at home if you have any cold or flu symptoms.

  • Entry for Clients through reception into their treatment room and then exit for the downstairs rooms OUT the side doors to prevent too many people in the reception area - if needed.

  • Appointment time slots will also be staggered 15 mins apart.... to try and ensure patients are not waiting in the reception area simultaneously.

  • Outdoor chairs spaced 2 m apart in the eventuality there is a crowd.

Other protections and support

  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 reduces your risk of severe illness, hospitalisation and death.

  • We reserve the right to refuse treatment to any clients that present with cold or flu like symptoms.

  • Client's will be sent pre-session texts or emails stating they are not to attend if they are feeling unwell, etc.

  • All clients must hand sanitise before entry to the building.

A note from Marion, Movement Solutions owner

Movement Solutions is about Wellness.

We do not want to be a part of a system that creates unnecessary fear around this virus. I would like to reinforce our solid messaging to clients that:

  1. The overall COVID-19 recovery rate is between 97% and 99.75% (Reference Here).

  2. If they lie within the vulnerable patients groups - Elderly, Obese, Diabetic or those with pre-existing co-morbidities - then THEY need to take responsibility for protecting themselves. They might like to consider requesting HOME visits instead of attending the studio.

  3. The BEST form of immunity is LOVE ( HeartMath website Science

  4. The WORST form of immunity is FEAR

  5. Sleep, a Healthy Diet ( increased ZINC and VIT C), adequate fitness, a happy emotional state and a sense of purpose in life are the best predictors of health.

My Advice - STAY OFF the topic of Covid, and wherever possible let us choose subjects that make US smile and laugh.
